PLEASE NOTE: All certified divers are encouraged to attend San Jose Flipper Dippers' dives. Non-club members will be required to show proof of certification to the dive coordinator prior to entering the water with our group. Please sign up for dives at the General Meeting or contact the coordinator. This is needed in case of cancellation or changes.

SATURDAY, MAY 10
CLAM DIG AT TOMALES BAY. Coordinator: Larry Ankuda, 408-378-4963; email: lankuda@comcast. Come join Larry in a day of family fun. Dig for those elusive clams in beautiful Tomales Bay. Novices and experts welcome; boat owners especially welcome. Bring digging gear and lunch. This is a great opportunity to bring the non-diving members of your family on a Dipper outing. Meet at carpool spot at 6:32 AM for 6:47 departure time, or meet at Lawson's Landing boathouse by 9:17 AM. We will be back in San Jose by 6:15 PM.

CARMEL RIVER BEACH SHORE DIVE. Coordinator: Tim Shannon, 408-279-4515, email: tpshannon57@hotmail.com. Meet in the parking lot near the restrooms at 8:30 am. Bring two tanks, dive gear, snacks, fluids, and a lunch. This is a great place for kayaks and nudibranch searches. There is a bit of a hike across the beach to the water

WEEKEND, MAY 23-26
MEMORIAL DAY ABALONE DIVE/CAMPOUT AT ALBION. Coordinator: Paul Recore, 510-623-0688; email:paulrecore@sbcglobal.net. Come join fellow Dippers for one of our biggest North Coast gatherings of the year. The Club has reserved camping sites for Friday thru Sunday nights. Sign up at the General Meeting. This is the one we've all been waiting for. There is a lot to do and see in the area, so bring the family. Be sure to read the article in the Newsletter for important information on this fun weekend.

BEACH DIVE PHOTO COMPETITION. Coordinator: Mike Chalup (408) 744-1868; email: mchalup@ virtual.net. Annual Beach Dive Photo Competition sponsored by Northern California Underwater Photo Society. Both film and digital categories, different skill levels, dinner reception, educational classes. Approximately $20,000 in prizes! See or contact Mike for further details.
